British Irish Council – Jersey 2013
The British-Irish Council is a governmental forum made up of Irish and British governments, the devolved institutions in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, the Isle of Man and Guernsey and Jersey. Summit meetings are held twice year in one of the Members’ jurisdiction and on 14th and 15th November 2013 the meeting was held in Jersey at the L’Horizon Hotel.
The Guernsey Event Company worked with the Policy Council to make all arrangements for the 80 delegates attending the Summit. Security was a priority for the two days and we worked closely with Jersey Police and all suppliers to ensure that all arrangements adhered to strict guidelines.
Senior politicians attending the meeting included Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland; Rt Hon Carwyn Jones, First Minister, Wales; Rt Hon Peter Robinson, First Minister, and Martin McGuiness, deputy First Minister, Northern Ireland; Enda Kenny T.D., Taoiseach, Ireland and the Rt Hon the Lord McNally, Minister of state for justice.
