Live Cricket Action T20 Bataille & The Ashes

GCB logo squareWickets, bails, pads and bats will be what it’s all about on Saturday 11 July 2015 for the Swoffers T20 Bataille at KGV, Castel.

Fighting it out in the semi-finals of the T20 Bataille will be Next Generation IT Cobo CC, 2mi Wanderers CC, MiltonOptimal CC and Odey Rovers CC.  The first semi-final will start at 10:30, the second semi-final will commence at 13:00 and the final will begin at 17:00.

2015 is the second year of the Swoffers T20 Bataille in its current format of a being a competition amongst the Bailiwick’s cricket clubs.  The winning club receives a trophy that will be engraved with their club name.

Everyone is welcome to come and watch the live cricket action at KGV.  Parking will be available and a small donation is appreciated.  Families can enjoy not only live action of the T20 Bataille but also bouncy castle, the speed gun challenge and a DJ.  Hot food will be available from the ever popular Tan’s Thai Kitchen (a regular stall holder at St. Peter Port’s “Fresh Friday” market) plus hot dogs, burgers will be available.  Spectators can enjoy mini tubs of Guernsey Dairy Ice Cream, kindly donated by the Guernsey Dairy and Active, formerly MENFUN, will also be at KGV with their games and giveaways raising funds to help local people with learning disabilities.  A full bar will be available with a range of draft bitters, lagers and ciders as well as wine and soft drinks.

Saturday 11 July will see club cricket in Guernsey and there is also international test cricket in Cardiff, Wales on the same day with the fourth day of the 1st Test of the Investec Ashes 2015.  Live coverage of all the action from the fourth day will be broadcast on a giant plasma screen that will be located outside the KGV Club House.
