Event GuernseyLiberation Day 2018

Liberation Day 2018

Wednesday 9 May 2018 marked the 73rd anniversary of the Liberation of Guernsey after five long years of occupation by the German forces.  Liberation Day continues to be an important and poignant day in the history of the Island.

An estimated 10,000 people came into St Peter Port to mark and celebrate our national holiday with entertainment, stalls, food and live music provided from 10am until midnight.

The GEC provided a full event management service for the event including all logistics and event infrastructure; booking, liaison and co-ordination of all entertainment; sale of pitches and liaison with all stall holders and food concessions; budgetary control; and on site event management for the set up, event and get out.
