Coinciding with the BBC’s annual “Last Night of the Proms”, Guernsey’s own “Proms on the Pier” is a celebration of live musical entertainment with the pomp and ceremony of Last Night of the Proms.
History continues to play an important role in Guernsey and the annual Battle of Britain Air Display sees the skies above St. Peter Port alive with aircraft from both yesteryear and today.
After an absence of seventeen years, 2009 saw the return of the Guernsey Marathon to the island. Sponsored by Sportingbet who is dedicated to supporting sport in the community.
9 May 1945 was and will always remain a pivotal date in the history of Guernsey: the day when Guernsey was liberated from the occupying Germans by British troops after 5 long years of occupation.
