YBG Summer Ball 2012

Young Business Group (YBG) held a summer ball on Friday 15th June with the theme of ‘mercury’ to coincide with the recent launch of YBG’s own branded publication ‘Mercury’ at the St Pierre Park Hotel on Friday 15 June 2012.

The evening consisted of welcome drinks followed by a three course dinner and hosted a full programme of entertainment including the presentation of the ‘Bill Green Award’. Proudly won in 2012 by both Living Room and The Learning Company.

Local businessman, entrepreneur and founder of Maximuscle and Maxicorp, Zef Eisenberg, discussed how he climbed the ladder of success from leaving school at the tender age of 15 and how he came to found the UK’s No. 1 sports food brand without any investors, shareholders, debts or loans. Listeners were left feeling both inspired and motivated.

Further entertainment included a live performance from the local band The Half Day Fridays where the guests danced the night away. Performing together since 2008, The Half Day Fridays consists of four members; Matt, John, Nick and Jordan. Beginning as a cover band they have since had success writing their own material and in March 2011 released their debut album ‘This Ain’t Painting By Numbers’. Their success has led to them being featured in live lounge sessions for both the BBC and Channel TV and tracks from the album have been played across the UK on the BBC Introducing Program. These multi-talented musicians are no ordinary rock band and at gigs observers often see instruments such as the melodica, harmonica, ukulele and violin. They play something for everyone.

This event was kindly sponsored by BWCI and the drinks reception by itv Channel Television.
