YPG Presents “Back to Broadway” 2012
Friday 21 September saw a special performance by “Back to Broadway” at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts. It was a night to put your dancing shoes on; banish your worries and concerns and let your mind and spirit be transported to the wonderful world of musical theatre.
The evening, presented by Young People (YPG) and sponsor Investec Specialist Bank, was about cabaret, music, dance and raising money for YPG who are working in partnership with Barnardo’s to support Guernsey’s young people.
“Back to Broadway” was originally formed in 2007 and now features the cream of the UK’s singers drawn from the West End, National Opera and major touring productions. The show links songs from some the world’s best loved musicals with the endearing story of one girl’s objective to become a Broadway star.
YPG opened its brand new youth centre in St. Peter Port on 7th September and the “Back to Broadway” evening continued the momentum of this exciting new charity that focuses on providing support and advice on all issues affecting 11-16 year olds: an objective that is mirrored by “Back to Broadway’s” own musical Theatre Summer Schools that give children the chance to learn stage, craft and teamwork whilst building confidence.
